Project Serotonin Launches Preventive Health Platform to Advance Personalized Medicine in India

Project Serotonin has introduced the tenth generation of its Preventive Health Platform and Precision Health OS, positioning the technology as an infrastructure layer for hospitals, clinics and longevity centres looking to expand preventive healthcare services.

The platform was unveiled at RISE for Healthy Aging, the Longevity India Conference held at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru. The company said its latest offering is designed to help healthcare providers move from episodic treatment towards continuous monitoring, personalized interventions and long-term health management.

At the centre of the platform is a broader approach to personalized medicine, bringing together information that is often distributed across different healthcare systems. Diagnostics, genomic information, blood biomarkers, wearable data, clinical records and practitioner observations can be combined into a longitudinal health profile, allowing providers to assess changing risk rather than relying only on individual consultations or isolated test results.

The move comes as healthcare systems face growing pressure from chronic diseases and rising multimorbidity. The World Health Organization estimates that non-communicable diseases account for nearly 75% of deaths globally. In India, these conditions often emerge at younger ages than in developed markets, increasing the need for earlier intervention and sustained management.

Project Serotonin said its platform is intended to complement existing hospital and clinical infrastructure rather than replace established medical pathways. Healthcare providers can continue using their current systems while adding a dedicated prevention layer covering risk assessment, care protocols, patient engagement, monitoring and behaviour change.

Precision Health OS Brings Multiple Health Data Sources Together

The company’s Precision Health OS serves as the central technology layer of the platform. It is designed to assess genetic predispositions, biomarker changes, wearable trends, lifestyle patterns, pharmacogenetic considerations and clinical history as part of a single health profile.

The approach reflects a wider shift in healthcare towards using multiple sources of information to understand an individual’s health over time. Advances in genomics, wearable technology, diagnostic testing and artificial intelligence have significantly increased the amount of health information available to patients and clinicians. The challenge, however, is turning these separate datasets into practical care decisions.

Project Serotonin said its system includes safeguards covering contraindications, potential interactions and escalation pathways. It also incorporates anonymization, encryption and role-based access controls intended to support the secure handling of health information.

The information generated by the platform is translated into the company’s SRTN Precision Daily Operating System, or SRTN-pDOS. This framework converts individual health information into practitioner-guided protocols covering areas such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress management and supplementation.

The protocols are offered through two broad formats. The first focuses on foundational preventive care, while the second provides therapy-adjunct programmes for specific areas of health, including cardiovascular and gut health.

According to Project Serotonin, its protocols draw on a database of more than 44,000 stratified clinical studies and have also been refined through real-world pilots. Recommendations are delivered through the company’s application and supported by care concierge teams and health coaches.

This engagement component is important because the value of preventive healthcare depends heavily on whether patients can maintain recommended changes over time. Project Serotonin cited evidence showing that adherence to some preventive therapies can be relatively low, highlighting the gap between receiving a recommendation and consistently following it.

Platform Targets Hospitals and Clinics Seeking Scalable Preventive Care

Project Serotonin’s strategy is not limited to individual consumers. The company is targeting large hospitals, multispecialty hospitals, clinic networks and longevity centres that want to introduce structured preventive programmes without rebuilding their existing healthcare infrastructure.

The platform connects 12 systems spanning diagnostics, genomics, wearable intelligence, clinician workflows, patient engagement, prescription intelligence, fulfilment and adherence support. Healthcare institutions can deploy the complete platform or select individual capabilities depending on their operational requirements.

Its Rx Intelligence component also screens recommendations against a database covering more than 2,600 drugs, adding a medication-related layer to the platform’s broader prevention framework.

The company’s launch reflects a growing interest among healthcare providers in moving upstream from disease treatment to risk identification and prevention. For hospitals, this can also create an opportunity to maintain patient relationships between conventional appointments while developing new preventive and wellness services.

Dr Ashwat Visvanathan, head of partnerships and user outcomes at Project Serotonin, said the healthcare industry has made significant progress in digitizing records and expanding diagnostic capabilities, but the next challenge is connecting these sources into a continuous view of the individual.

The company’s proposition is therefore less about adding another standalone diagnostic or wellness application and more about creating an operating layer around existing healthcare services. That distinction could be important for institutions that want to expand preventive care without disrupting established clinical workflows.

Project Serotonin is positioning the platform within what it describes as the Medicine 4.0 era, where the emphasis is shifting from simply collecting more health information to making that information useful in everyday care.

For India’s healthcare market, where chronic diseases are placing increasing pressure on hospitals and patients, the commercial opportunity could be significant if preventive programmes can demonstrate measurable improvements in health outcomes while remaining practical to operate at scale.

The latest launch gives Project Serotonin a broader platform from which to pursue that opportunity, combining data integration, clinical oversight and patient engagement into a single preventive care model. The success of the approach, however, will ultimately depend on adoption by healthcare institutions, sustained patient participation and evidence that personalized interventions can translate into better long-term outcomes.
